
Długa Street in Gdansk
Długa Street and Long Market Street also known as the Royal Route are among the most beautiful streets in Gdansk. They extend from the Golden Gate to the Green Gate at the Motlawa River. Rich burghers used to live here and almost every house has its own unique history. The oldest remaining houses date back to the Middle Ages but most of the buildings were built later.

St Mary's Basilica in Gdansk
St Mary's Church is the largest brick temple in Europe and it was built is several stages between 1343 and 1502. The interior houses many fine examples of medieval and baroque art such as the stone Pietà from about 1410, a painted copy of Hans Memling's The Last Judgement from 1472, astronomical clock made between 1464 and1470 by Hans Duringer or the main altar made between 1510 and 1517.

The Green Gate in Gdansk
Before the present magnificent structure was built, there had been in its place the oldest gate in Gdansk - the Gate of the Coge built in the 14th century. The original gate was dismantled between 1564 and 1568 and the present Mannerist structure was erected. The Green Gate was built between 1568 and 1571 by Ragnier of Amsterdam and Hans Kramer from Dresden. The original purpose of the building was to serve as royal lodgings for visiting monarchs.

The Old Town
The most representative part of the downtown part of the city was in most part rebuilt after the Second World War. Most of the city's best known monuments are located here like, for example, St Mary's Basilica, The Golden Gate, The Town hall. The Old Town's thoroughfare runs along the so called Royal Route consisting of Długa Street and Długi Targ Street.

Oliwa Park
Oliwa Park mesmerises the visitor with its natural beauty restrained to various degrees by the park's geometrical landscape design. Visitors to the park can find here rare and valuable species of trees and plants like tulip tree whose blossom resembles tulip flowers, white fir, Douglas-fir, Chinese juniper, silver birch, rhododendron, azalea, maidenhair tree, sweet chestnut, ostrya and Swedish whitebeam. The diverse plant collection is additionally enriched by big flocks of wild ducks, swans and ubiquitous red squirrels.

The Pier in Sopot
This landmark of Sopot is one of the most popular venues in Poland for public entertainment events and recreation. It consists of two parts: the 511.5 metre long pier (the longest wooden pier in Europe) and the 20 000-square-metre platform built on land.
